Is anyone actually on my route?
Search lists the rides that fit your corridor today, with a clear route-fit explanation and time gap. If nothing fits, a ride alert tells you the moment someone posts one, and a cab pool is there if the day cannot wait.
Is CoMiles safe for a woman travelling alone?
You can restrict a ride to women, and the database enforces that boundary rather than the interface. Your exact address stays hidden until you accept, and a time-limited link lets someone you trust follow the trip.
These help you choose. They cannot guarantee anyone’s conduct, and CoMiles runs no background checks.
Who handles the money?
You do. The passenger pays the driver directly by UPI or cash. CoMiles records that it happened, or that you disputed it, and nothing else.
Is this legal — am I running a taxi?
A contribution is capped near one person’s share of the running cost, driver included, so a driver recovers cost rather than earns. Offer only a journey you were making anyway, and keep your licence, insurance and permits in order.
CoMiles does not check your licence, insurance or permits, and does not verify that your insurance covers a shared journey.
What does “verified” mean on a profile?
Green means a registry or a provider confirmed something: a work email domain you control, or a vehicle checked against the registry. Amber means a person told us — a self-attested vehicle. The two never share a colour anywhere in the app.
What happens if the driver cancels?
Cancellations and no-shows are recorded against whoever caused them. A late driver cancellation after a confirmed booking can enter reliability review; successful passenger recovery can excuse it, and exceptional events can be appealed. The rollout starts in shadow mode, so it explains outcomes before any new-offer pause is enabled. There is no penalty charge.
Can I carpool with my colleagues only?
Verify your work email and colleagues at the same verified domain can recognise you. There is no employer console and no company dashboard.
A verified work email is not employment verification and does not prove a current role.
Does CoMiles work across India?
The app is open to adults in India, but supply is being built corridor by corridor. You may find nothing on your route yet — a ride alert is the honest answer until more people join.
Do I need a car?
No. Passengers request a seat; drivers offer one in a journey they were already making. Many members do both depending on the day.
Is my location shared while I ride?
Live location is shared with the people on your trip during the trip, and with anyone you send a time-limited trip link to. Background location is opt-in and can be turned off.
A trip link works for anyone holding it until it expires or you revoke it. Send it to people, not to groups.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Settings → Account settings → Delete account, inside the app. No approval, no waiting on support.
Is CoMiles on the App Store or Play Store?
Not yet. iPhone is through Apple TestFlight and Android through an official direct build. Both routes are on the download page and neither asks for payment details.
